- VALORANT only has crossplay across consoles.
- PC players cannot play with console players.
- Cross-progression is available on all platforms.
VALORANT was initially a PC-only game. However, Riot has taken the plunge and released its massively popular tactical shooter for consoles as well. They’ve done a good job at porting the VALORANT experience to consoles, and the feedback from the community has been good. With the console release of VALORANT, the series also introduced crossplay, albeit in a limited form. In this article, we’ll explain everything you need to know.
PC and Console Crossplay
As of now, Riot Games have firmly said that there will not be crossplay between PC and console. The major reason for this is the balancing problems that it would cause.
With this, they’re mostly talking about aim assist. This aims to bridge the gap between mouse and keyboard aimers (a way faster and more accurate method of aiming) and controller aimers, but it still can’t make them the same. The way to solve this is to bump up the intensity of aim assist but that never works out, and in pretty much all competitive shooters where PC/console crossplay is a thing, the topic of aim assist being ‘unfair’ or too weak is a topic of hot debate.
However, there is cross-progression across PC and consoles. Meaning that all your skins, rank, and career history will be translated to other platforms, given that you log in with the same Riot account. So you can definitely play on PC and consoles with the same account.
VALORANT Xbox and Playstation Crossplay
Both Xbox and Playstation players can face off against each other. The game has full crossplay support for both consoles. You can easily play with your friends no matter which console they have. Cross-progression is also the same, just log in with your Riot Account and everything will be there.
Will There Ever Be PC-Console Crossplay?
Riot Games have been adamant about keeping the competitive aspect of the game fair, which is why they have rejected the idea of PC and console crossplay. There is not a lot of hope for PC-console crossplay any time in the near future, unless Riot Games changes its mind or a breakthrough in balancing is made.
There could be crossplay in Unranked modes, but again: that’s just speculation and there is no evidence to support that.
Conclusion
While the lack of crossplay between PC and console might be a disappointment to some, it’s definitely an understandable move by Riot. Balancing controller aim assist can be a nightmare in more casual games, so if you want to keep the competitive integrity of a game intact it’s a very understandable move to keep PC and console separate.
Having said that: the fact that a tactical shooter has broken into the console landscape is already a win. It will be extremely entertaining to see how the console competitive scenes grows over the years, and hopefully the launch of VALORANT on consoles means that more competitive tactical shooters make their way onto consoles.

A gaming center is a dedicated space where people come together to play video games, whether on PCs, consoles, or arcade machines. These centers can offer a range of services, from casual gaming sessions to competitive tournaments.
