Introduction

If you like playing on the frontlines and making first contact with the enemy, then Assault is the class for you. In Battlefield 6, Assaults are the main class, designed for man-to-man combat. In hero shooters, you’d call them DPS characters. But Battlefield 6 is quite different, as it allows you to customize a lot of your loadout, and you have to coordinate with dozens of other players, which can make things difficult for even the most experienced shooter players.

So, here is a quick guide to the Assault Class. From best weapons to gadgets, here is everything you need to know.

Assault: Straight to the Frontlines

If diving straight into chaos is your thing, Assault delivers it best. You’re the one holding the frontline, pushing objectives, and smashing through enemy defenses.

Signature Set

Each class has a signature set. Think of them as abilities and perks exclusive to that class. You can’t change your Signature Set. With this class, you get the following signature set:

Signature Gadget: Adrenaline Injector – Clears stuns/flashes and gives a small movement boost.

Signature Weapon: Assault Rifle – Better proficiency with the ARs. Faster draw times and pulls out the weapon quicker after exiting from sprint.

Signature Trait: Mission Focused – You can push and capture objectives quicker, and you get faster cooldowns when you are in combat

Class Active Ability: Rally Squad –  You and your team get a temporary adrenaline rush.

Training Paths

Breacher Frontliner
Allows you to carry an extra grenade Squadmates that deploy on you or your Deploy Beacon get the effects of Adrenaline Injector temporarily; you also get the same buff.
Reduced movement penalty when moving and shooting Reduced fall damage
Faster reload for incendiary-round shotguns, grenades, and breaching projectile launchers Faster health regeneration

The Assault Class offers two training paths: Breacher and Frontliner. Breacher is more suited for breaching buildings and closed-off spaces. On the other hand, Frontliner is more geared towards taking the lead on the battlefield. Both TPs play similar roles but in different situations.

Gadgets

Assaults have two gadget slots. You can either carry two gadgets or a third weapon. However, that third weapon can only be DMRs, Carbines, or Shotguns.

Assault Ladder (Default)

Just as the name suggests, it allows you to get to higher vantage points. You can use it to get to higher floors in a building or help your recons get a good sniping position.

X96 BRE (Rank 7)

A grenade launcher that shoots flashbangs. One of the best tools for pushing into tight spaces. You can also use it to help teammates, as the range is pretty decent. If you play really aggressively and like to push objectives a lot, it’s a great gadget.

M320A1 HE (Rank  17)

Your general grenade launcher. It’s only anti-infantry, so it won’t take out tanks and other vehicles. Great for driving enemies out of corners and clearing up chokepoints.

M320A1 THRM (Rank 44)

Same as the grenade launcher, except it shoots incendiary grenades. You can use it to push enemies out of objectives, lock down areas, or deny access to important areas. It’s slightly better than the grenade launcher, as the AOE is larger and it lingers for quite a bit.

Deploy Becon (Assault 1 Assignment)

Allows you and your squadmates to deploy on it (once per squadmate). It’s a must-have gadget, as you can put it somewhere near an objective, and if a squadmate dies, they can jump back into the fight again.

SS26 (Assault Expert 1 Assignment)

In simple words, a shotgun that shoots incendiary rounds. Great for maps with a lot of close-quarter fights. It’s deadly in close range and can easily one or two-shot an enemy. If you are holding/pushing an objective inside a room, it will be super useful.

Beginner’s Guide (Tips)

Here are some useful tips to better utilize the Assault class and its utilities.

Keep Throwing Down The Deploy Beacon

If you are the one who carries the deploy beacon in your squad, then it’s your responsibility to keep putting it down once it’s used/destroyed. It allows your teammates to directly spawn at it, preventing the long travel to get to the objective. It’s one of the most important gadgets you have. Always keep an eye on the cooldown, and place it down near the objective whenever you can, but make sure it’s not directly in the line of fire. Otherwise it’ll get destroyed quickly and teammates who spawn on it will be killed instantly.

Be Aggressive

As an Assault, you are bound to die a lot. But you are the only one who has the utilities to push objectives. So, you have to take risks and push into enemy territory. Of course, communicating with squamates helps, but in solo-queue, the communication isn’t that great.

Use the utilities you have to take control of spaces and objectives. Don’t chase frags, focus more on completing/pushing/defending objectives.

Stay Close To Your Support

This might sound like a basic tip, but it’s actually really important. As an assault, you are going to run out of bullets often, and the support class is the one that can resupply you. So, always ask a support to play with you or stick close to one. They can continue to give you ammo so you can fight without fear of running out of bullets.
