Introduction
Improving in Fortnite isn’t easy. There are many things to work on, like building, editing, aim, piece control, positioning, rotations, game sense, etc. Luckily, you don’t have to rely on official matchmaking games alone if you want to improve in Fortnite. Maps like the ones we list in this article allow you to focus on specific parts of your game, which in turn will make you improve a lot quicker in the actual game.
We did the dirty work for you and found the only 5 maps you will ever need to improve in Fortnite. These maps have everything you need to work on to be a better Fortnite player.
Mechanics Training V5
Map Code: 2424-4344-7824
This is hands down the best map to train your core mechanics, like building, editing, and aiming. It has everything from aiming drills, editing tunnels, piece control practice, to phasing practice.
You can use this as both a warm-up and a dedicated practice map. For warmup, you can do some aim drills, then move on to piece control and edit practice, and then end it off with a bit of freebuilding. There are many tasks for training, so find some that you enjoy and start practicing.
This is a solo practice map, and it mainly focuses on training your mechanics. It’s like Fortnite’s own version of Aimlabs, but with a lot more stuff.
Mechanics 1V1
Map Code: 5037-3686-6625
After training your mechanics, it’s a good idea to move on to some actual combat to put your training into practice. While there are a plethora of 1v1 maps out there, we chose Mechanics 1v1 because it has all the 1v1 variants you will ever need.
This map is basically a jack of all trades when it comes to 1v1. You have your standard build fight 1v1s, boxfight, and realistics, but it also features late game practice, peek shots, and piece control 1v1s among, all in one map.
This map will be your go-to for any dueling practice you will ever need. It’s also decently popular, so you can find people in Fill to play with. Or, better yet, play with your friends to improve together.
1v2 Clutch Realistics
Map Code: 6809-4712-6549
If Fortnite had fair fights, things would be a lot easier, but that’s not the case. You can easily be cornered into an unfavorable situation. You could get third-partyed after a fight in Solos, or have to fend off the other team if your teammate died in Duos.
More often than not, you will be fighting against multiple opponents in a match. This is where the 1v2 Clutch Realistics map comes in. It recreates those tense situations where you are getting pressured from multiple enemies. This map can be used to train yourself in these situations. It helps you learn how to isolate fights and win unfavorable battles.
Pandvil Box Fights
1v1 Map Code: 0153-8328-7526
2v2 Map Code: 6562-8953-6567
3v3 Map Code: 7686-1102-4551
If you want to get good in Fortnite, you need to perfect your box fighting, as all duels usually end up with one player being in a box and the other pressuring him. That’s why you need to master how to win boxfights. For your box fighting fix, we chose Pandvil as it’s the most popular and optimized really well.
The Mechanics 1v1 map we mentioned before also has a box fight section, but that’s only 1v1. If you want to practice 2v2 or 3v3 boxfights, then go for this map. It will not only help you improve your boxfighting but also your team coordination.
Pro Zone Wars
Map Code: 3537-4087-0888
You can end your practice with a good Zone Wars map. The Pro Zone Wars is a solid choice for this. It’s simple, optimized, and popular enough to find a lobby. Zone Wars basically put everything we talked about into practice.
You will be fending off multiple enemies, fighting for position, and trying to survive, all while you are being pushed by the zone. A Zone Wars map helps put mechanics like tunneling, tarping, and editing into practice, as you are severely punished if you mess up. This kind of pressure really helps you improve your overall game.
This map has 2v2, 3v,3, and 4v4 options, so you can practice with your team as well.
Honorable Mentions
There is a bit of personal preference when it comes to practice maps or training in general. So, if for some reason you do not enjoy the maps listed above, you can try these alternatives.
Aim Edit Piece Control & 1v1 Freebuild: A simpler alternative to Mechanics Training V5. It doesn’t have as many tasks and exercises as Mechanics Training V5, but it has enough to cover all the basics. You can train your aim, editing, building, and piece control in this map. Some players prefer this over Mechanics Training V5 just because of the simplicity.
Tilted Zone Wars: A Zone Wars map based on Titled Towers, this is a more fun take on Zone Wars. It can be your alternative to Pro Zone Wars. Pro Zone Wars is a linear map, which can get repetitive, whereas Tilted Towers is a bit more dynamic with buildings and elevations, which makes it a bit more fun.
Box PVP: If you want to improve your boxfighting, then you can use this map as well. It’s a free-for-all box fighting map, and it’s quite popular, so you can easily find a lobby. You can get up to 16 players in a single lobby, which makes for a lot of fun and good practice.
Are Aim Trainers Worth It for Fortnite
Whenever you start to learn about improving your aim, you will come across someone suggesting trying aim trainers like Kovaaks (paid) and Aimlabs (free).
But, are aim trainers effective at improving your aim? Well, the answer is yes, however, it also comes down to personal preference. Aim Trainers gamify the training drills, with stats and high scores. It becomes fun to track your progress as you set new high scores for your favorite tasks, and as a result, improve your aim.
One instance where aim trainers can really help you out is if you’ve got one identifiable weakness in your aim. If your tracking, for example, is much worse than your flicks, you can do isolated tracking drills in an aim trainer.
However, if you want to improve your aim in general and aren’t working on a specific section of your aim, you can still get the same level of aim by training in-game using maps like Mechanics Training V5. So, it usually comes down to what you enjoy and what you need.
It’s like choosing an exercise at the gym that trains the same muscle and brings the same results, and picking the one you just like more. It’s all personal preference.
Conclusion
These maps cover all the basics you need to work on to improve in Fortnite. However, it’s important to play these maps with training in mind, instead of going on autopilot mode. Try to use these maps to work on your weaknesses. For instance, if aim is your weakness, you can train that in Mechanics Training V5. If you always run out of mats in fights, that means you are probably overbuilding.
The first step to really improving as a player is being aware of your weaknesses and working on them to iron them out. These maps are a fantastic tool to help you with that.
