Introduction

While the default binds in Marvel Rivals aren’t bad, they aren’t the best either. In a game where you constantly have to shuffle through abilities and time your combos right, you should opt for binds that are comfortable for you. This, of course, takes a lot of trial and error, which many players shy away from. That’s why we have tested and found some great binds for Marvel Rivals.

These are binds that won’t affect your movement and allow you to comfortably play without missing your inputs. If you are interested in optimizing your game beyond the keybinds, we have a dedicated Best Marvel Rivals Settings and Options Guide up on the website.

Best Keyboard/Mouse Binds in Marvel Rivals

There are many things to bind in a game such as Marvel Rivals, but the ones with the most impact on the game are the movement and ability binds.

For movement, WASD is the staple and has always been, unless you have a reason to change. There is a very small number of players who move their movement binds to somewhere else on the keyboard (like RDFG) because it gives them more buttons to choose from on the left. Of course, this isn’t for everyone, and we wouldn’t recommend doing so unless you have a specific reason.

One thing that we do recommend is binding jump to the mouse wheel, as it allows you to spam jumps.

As for the ability binds, you should utilize your side mouse buttons. Bind two of the most-used abilities to these buttons so you can access them easily without compromising your movement.

The others can be bound to buttons like Shift and Ctrl (there is no crouching in this game). You can press these buttons easily with your pinky finger, which does not compromise your movement.

If you don’t have a mouse with side buttons, you can use normal buttons like F, C, V, or E. But, these do make you take your finger off the movement binds.

Last up are the team-up abilities; you can leave those at default since you don’t always have these abilities, and most team-up abilities have long cooldowns.

Best Controller Binds in Marvel Rivals

For the controller, the binds are very much based on personal preferences. The default binds are decent enough for most players, and you should only change them if you have a reason to.

For example, if you play claw, you might prefer swapping some binds on the four main buttons. Similarly, if you play on a controller with paddles on the back, you might have to make some changes for that.

The other reason you should be changing binds is for the heroes. For example, heroes like Spider-Man and Black Panther require a lot of precise inputs, so you can tweak your binds to make playing these heroes easy.

On the controller, the main thing you should be configuring is the sensitivity. It’s a lot more complicated than KBM, where all you have to adjust is a sensitivity slider. On the controller, you have to configure the deadzone and sensitivity mode, among other things.

In short, the default controller binds in Marvel Rivals are good enough for most players, and you should only change them if you have a reason to.

How to Change Binds in Marvel Rivals

Changing binds for keyboard and mouse is quite simple in Marvel Rivals, but for the controller, it’s a little bit confusing.

For keyboard and mouse, just go to the Settings, then Keyboard, and then Combat. You will see a button called All Heroes at the top. You can leave it as is if you want the settings to apply to all heroes, but you can also pick a hero to override any changes you want. From there on, just bind actions to the keys we mentioned above, and you are good to go.

For the controller, enter Settings > Controller > Combat. But, as you scroll down, you will see two options: Individual Hero Button Mapping and Batch Swapping

If you just want to change the buttons for a single hero, then click on the first option and set your binds. You could use this option more times if you want to have a couple of heroes you want to change the binds for.

However, if you want to change binds for all the heroes, then click on the second option. It will allow you to swap two buttons. You will have to repeat the steps if you want to change multiple binds.

Conclusion

Binds are an important part of your settings in Marvel Rivals. They are as important, if not more, than sensitivity. This is why you should spend some time figuring out and trying out your binds. We have listed several good options to choose from that pros use. The goal of these binds is to allow you to use your abilities without compromising movement and ensure you are comfortable doing so.
