Introduction

If you ever want to trade, deposit, or withdraw tradeable skins via Steam, you will need your Steam trade link (often also called ‘Steam trade url’). In this quick and easy guide, we’ll tell you how to find it. We’ll also answer some commonly asked questions and tell you how it works.

Where to find your Steam trade link

Step 1

Hover over your profile name until you see a dropdown, then click Inventory.

Step 2

Once you are in your inventory, click Trade Offers. You will then get to a new window; don’t worry if you don’t have any active offers.

Step 3

When you’re in the Trade Offers screen, click on Who can send me Trade Offers? You will then get to a new screen with lots of information.

Step 4

Find the big blue button. Do not click it (as that will create a new trade link). Above the button is your trade link. Simply select it, copy it, and paste it wherever your want.

Important: DO NOT click the ‘Create New URL’ button. That will invalidate your previous trade link and create a new one.

Common questions and concerns

Is sharing my Steam trade link safe?

Yes, sharing your Steam trade link is completely safe. The only thing people can do with your trade link is send you trade offers, which you can refuse if you do not want to trade. Should you agree to a trade, you have to confirm it first as well, so there’s no risk attached to sharing your trade link.

Who needs my Steam trade link?

To put it shortly: everyone who needs to be able to trade with you. This includes other players, websites where you can trade/buy/sell skins, skin gambling websites, and so on. Third parties cannot do anything with your trade link except send you a trade offer.

Is there a difference between my trade link and Steam API key?

Yes, there is a difference. Sharing your trade link is harmless, whereas you should only share your Steam API key with people and platforms that you completely trust. You should never share your API key with individuals who request it; only share it with reputable websites that you know you can trust.

What happens when I change my trade link?

If you (accidentally or otherwise) change your trade link, your previous trade link will become invalidated. This means that people who used your old link will not be able to send trade offers any longer.

People cannot trade with me, even though I have shared my trade link

If you want people to trade with you or send you trade offers, your inventory privacy must be set to ‘Public’. If it’s set to private, people will not be able to use your trade link to send you offers.
