Introduction

CS2 skins, with all of their patterns, wear conditions, and unique quirks, are a great way to express yourself as a player. And there is perhaps nothing more eye-catching than your knife/glove combo. It’s the stuff that you see every single round, no matter what weapon you buy. Sadly, knives and gloves can be extremely expensive, and the combos that you see streamers and pros using can cost more than a very decent used car. Luckily, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to rock a cool, unique, and perfectly matched combo. In this article, we’ll go over some of the nicest budget knife and glove combos in CS2.

What is a ‘cheap’ combo?

Obviously, everything in this article needs some context. There is no world in which paying $400 for a virtual combination of items can be considered ‘cheap’. However, in the current CS2 market, knives and gloves quite simply cost a lot of money. For the purposes of this article, we’ve chosen the $500 mark as the limit. All the combos in this article can be bought (at the time of writing) for under that price. Some will come close to it, while others will be far below the $500 mark.

Our combos

It would be easy to list the usual suspect combos, like Forest DDPAT gloves with a Forest DDPAT knife. That’s a cool combo, but it’s not very original. We could also just list the cheapest gloves with the cheapest knives. But that would result in a boring list, and the combos probably wouldn’t look right at all.

We’ve chosen a different approach, and are going for combinations that match well together. These are a bit more unique (though most of them are well-known in the skins community) and have a little bit more thought put into them. If you want to get yourself a respectable and slightly more unique combo, you’ve come to the right place.

Important: most of the gloves we recommend will be Field-Tested gloves. That’s because Minimal Wear and higher get a lot more expensive quite quickly. If you can find a pair of Field-Tested gloves with a good pattern and low wear, they quite often look like Minimal Wear (or better) gloves, so it pays off to shop around for a bit.

Moto Gloves 3rd Commando Company (FT) + Ursus Slaughter (FN)

Price: ~$395

This is one of our favorite budget combos because it makes no compromises. You get a very decent knife with rare inspect and deploy animations, with a very respectable finish, and you get a clean-looking pair of gloves.

If you look at the image of this combo, you’ll notice that the subtle red streak on the gloves matches the red of the Slaughter finish perfectly. As such, you could theoretically get these (very cheap) gloves and match them with any Slaughter knife, but the green handle of the Ursus knife also matches the green of the gloves really well, making this a combo that works on a lot of levels. The subtle pop of red at the bottom of the knife’s handle really completes the look.

Specialist Gloves Lt. Commander (FT) + Skeleton Safari Mesh (MW)

Price: ~$441

This combo is a little bit more ‘out there’ but it does really work if you ask us. The Lt. Commander gloves are a bit more high-tier looking and feeling than most of the budget gloves, and their beige palm elements match the color of Safari Mesh knives really well. This makes for a combo that isn’t as ‘obvious’ as some other combos, but works well nonetheless.

We’ve gone for the Skeleton Knife here, since it’s cool to use a high tier knife in a budget-oriented combo, but you can pick pretty much any Safari Mesh knife that fits your budget.

Hand Wraps Desert Shamagh (FT) + Stiletto Rust Coat (BS)

Price: ~$313

Most people pair Rust Coat knives with Duct Tape or Leather gloves. Those are cool combos, but they’re a bit common. This combo looks a bit more fresh and still works. The dark brown of the hand wraps is a nice match for the browns on the knife handle and blade, and it makes for a clean and simple combo that is thematically consistent.

A lot of people really dislike the Rust Coat aesthetic in CS2, but we find it to be a welcome change from the shouty and neon colorfulness that you usually see.

We’ve chosen the Stiletto here because we like the fact that the handle edges are also brown, but any Rust Coat knife works.

Hand Wraps Overprint (FT) + Gut Knife Gamma Doppler (FN)

Price: ~$495

It’s a pretty classic combo, but it’s so nice that we had to include it. Especially since not many people know you can get a flashy combo like this on a budget.

Sure, you have to go for a low tier knife like the Gut knife if you want to rock a Gamma Doppler combo under $500, but the lovely big blade really does help that finish shine. The specific knife in the image below is a Phase 3 Gamma Doppler which, as you’ll see, matches the colors of the gloves perfectly.

If you want to get yourself a top tier finish and you want a combination that matches it, this is one to go for. These gloves work with pretty much every Gamma Doppler (Phase 3 and 4) knife, so if you’ve got a bit more money to spend you can very easily upgrade the knife here.

Driver Gloves Queen Jaguar (FT) + Classic Knife Case Hardened (FN)

Price: ~$315

This is a pretty polarizing combo because it involves a lot of stuff most people don’t like (Classic Knife, Case Hardened Finish, Queen Jag gloves) but we think it works wonderfully well. The shades of gold/green that you find on the gloves pair nicely with the case hardened colors. The Classic Knife also has a more rugged look, which fits with the old timey jungle explorer vibes that the Queen Jaguar gloves radiate.

For maximum uniqueness, we recommend going for a gold gem knife (with almost no blue on it) but that can cost a bit more than a regular one.

Hydra Gloves Emerald (FT) + Talon Boreal Forest (MW)

Price: ~$426

This is not the most big brain combo in the article, but it’s a good one for people who want to invest most of their money in the knife. The gloves cost less than 1/5th of the price of this combo, so you can get away with owning a top-tier knife if you go for these.

Sure, they’re not a perfect match in terms of colors, but the overall vibe does match if you ask us. And for under $500, you’re rocking a Talon and you’ve got a pair of gloves that suits it. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask us.

Broken Fang Gloves Unhinged (FT) + Bowie Damascus Steel (FN)

Price: ~$277

This combo lives in two worlds. It’s both extremely subtle in its colors and very grounded in realism, as well as outrageously brutal in its overall design. Any Damascus Steel knife works beautifully with this combo, as the steel section pairs amazingly well with the metal studs and details on the gloves, but given how tough the gloves look, we’ve gone for the massive ‘in your face’ Bowie knife.

Combos like these are an acquired taste, but it’s very affordable and both elements look fantastic together, so it’s well worth considering.

Driver Gloves Black Tie (FT) + Shadow Daggers Vanilla

Price: ~$393

If a monochrome look is what you’re going for, this is a fantastic option. The Black Tie gloves combine a simple black and (off) white color scheme, and the pitch black Shadow Daggers Vanilla (‘vanilla’ means ‘without a finish’ in CS2) are a great addition to that. Furthermore, the white logo on the daggers is a nice little finishing touch for this combination.

With this combo, you’ll look like you’re at a high-society party ready to stealthily knife someone. It’s not super flashy and it won’t turn a lot of heads, but it’s a very clean and sleek combo.

Specialist Gloves Field Agent (FT) + Huntsman Blue Steel (FN)

Price: ~$500

This is a classic combination that quite simply works really, really well. The dark, royal blue of the gloves compliments the blue on the knife handle, making for a classy and sleek combo. There are no ‘easter eggs’ or ‘wait until you see it’ aspects to this combo, but sometimes a good color match is all you need.

The neon yellow on the gloves makes the combo pop a bit and give it a touch of color and playfulness, which is always nice. In addition to that, the Specialist Gloves are a higher tier glove, so if you’re someone who is more interested in gloves than knives, this could be a cool one to consider.

It’s also a great combo for blue loadouts, which is a popular color theme.

Sport Gloves Big Game (WW) + Gut Knife Tiger Tooth (FN)

Price: ~$460

Big Games are on the rise right now, but they used to be a criminally underrated glove. Maybe that was the case because their combo potential is quite low, but if you’re a fan of gold or yellow, these are your gloves.

Due to their hunting/nature theme, they’re naturally a great fit for the Tiger Tooth finish. Put that on a Gut Knife (which is a knife that hunters use) and you’ve got a thematically matching set. What’s more is that the colors also match on multiple levels. The brown of the Gut handle aligns nicely with certain shades of brown in the gloves, and the yellows and oranges on the knife also find their match in the glove’s materials.

Big Game gloves don’t wear that noticeably and they’ve been going up in price a lot, so we’ve chosen a Well-Worn pair here instead of the usual Field-Tested. If you find a pair with a good float, they’ll look perfectly clean.

If you decide to go for this combo, it can be good to know that the gloves are pattern-based. Finding a glove with a lot of matching yellow on the right hand can really make your combo stand out even more.

Conclusion

Getting a well thought out combo that works on multiple levels does not have to be an insanely expensive affair. There are plenty of fantastic combos that you can get for $500 or (way) less. This article lists 10 of the best, but there are tons more out there to explore. Hopefully, this article has helped you on your way to finding your perfect combo.
