First-person shooter ‘Selaco’, currently in Steam Early Access, will release Chapter 2: ‘The Machines of War’ as a free update on November 13. The development team revealed the release schedule and major details in an official announcement on October 30.

‘Selaco’ launched in Early Access in May 2024. Set aboard the massive space station ‘Selaco’, where refugees gathered after the fall of Earth, the story follows Dawn Collins of ACE Security as she faces an invasion by armed forces while investigating the facility’s murky past. The development team planned the full story across three chapters and intends to remain in Early Access until all are completed.
The upcoming Chapter 2 will feature 19 new campaign maps, offering roughly 6 to 8 hours of additional playtime, according to the developers. The new storyline digs into the backgrounds of the game’s two factions and introduces a relentless machine hunting Dawn down. While friendly NPCs fight alongside the player in certain sections, players can also choose to have their companion stay put and proceed solo.
Combat is also receiving updates. New equipment includes a minigun, a heavy machine gun that fires explosive rounds, and a jetpack. Heavy weapons picked up on the battlefield are discarded once their ammunition is spent, and new deployable equipment—such as Sentinel Drones, mini-turrets, and mobile cover—has also been added.
The development team explained that they rebuilt enemy AI pathfinding and decision-making while introducing patrols, allowing players to choose when to initiate combat. The existing Chapter 1 will also receive lighting and visual presentation enhancements. Weapon kits that players missed will be purchasable in safe rooms, and a feature allowing players to equip two kits to a single weapon and swap between them during combat was also announced.
With this update, existing save files will no longer be compatible. Players who have completed Chapter 1 can begin directly from Chapter 2. Those currently in progress can either finish their playthrough before the update or select a previous version using Steam’s Beta feature to continue, while unlocked weapon kits will be preserved.
