Gravity Game Arise announced on the 21st that it has registered the social awareness game ‘Kuukiyomi: Consider It Korean Edition’ on Steam.
The ‘Kuukiyomi’ series is a collection of social awareness games developed by Japan’s G-MODE. In Japanese, ‘kuuki’ means ‘air’ and ‘yomi’ means ‘reading,’ which together imply ‘reading the room.’ True to its title, the core of the game is to quickly grasp the situation in each stage and act appropriately to progress. First released for the Nintendo DSi in 2008, the series was ported to Steam in 2020, with four titles currently available on the platform.
Developed by IKINAGAMES and published by G-MODE and Gravity Game Arise, ‘Kuukiyomi: Consider It Korean Edition’ follows a Japanese protagonist visiting Korea, featuring scenarios tailored to Korean culture. Examples include knowing how to board a bus, when to pick up utensils while dining with elders, the consequences of sleeping with a fan on, and the dilemma of whether or not to block a general’s shot during a military soccer match—situations that resonate deeply with Koreans. Prior to its Steam registration, the game was showcased at the ‘BitSummit’ indie game festival held at Miyako Messe in Kyoto from May 22 to 24, where it received a positive response from fans.
“Kuukiyomi: Consider It Korean Edition” features a “Seriously” mode that assesses your social awareness after 100 scenarios, a “Trial” mode that allows you to select specific questions after clearing the game, and a “Past You” mode to review previous diagnostic results. Additionally, hidden modes can be unlocked based on your gameplay.
